Join us December 4th for one of OperaDelaware's favorite singers, baritone Sean Anderson (Dandini in this season's Cinderella and Ford in last season's acclaimed production of Falstaff), in a Sunday afternoon recital featuring many of his personal favorites. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know one of today's most exciting operatic artists—up close and personal!
Anderson will be accompanied by pianist Aurelien Eulert. The program will be followed by a "talk-back" session moderated by OperaDelaware's General Director Brendan Cooke.
Sean Anderson Biography
Diversely adept onstage, and possessing a voice praised as “warm vocal velvet” by Opera News, American baritone Sean Anderson has been garnering critical acclaim in opera, musical theater, and classical drama since childhood.
A native of Akron OH, Mr. Anderson studied music and voice at the University of Cincinnati – College Conservatory of Music where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degree. After apprenticing at the prestigious San Francisco Opera and Santa Fe Opera companies, he was briefly a member of the cast of Baz Luhrmann’s La Bohème on Broadway before embarking on his solo operatic career. Since then, he has appeared with nearly 20 different companies, including the New York City Opera in the Fall of 2007 as the Judge in Margaret Garner. His repertoire list includes dozens of leading roles ranging from Verdi to Mozart to Gilbert & Sullivan, and his magnetic stage presence and powerful voice have won him critical acclaim for both comedy and tragedy. Last season, Mr. Anderson earned rave reviews as Ford in OperaDelaware's acclaimed production of Falstaff.
