This series has ended for the 22/23 season.
Stay tuned later this summer for updates on our 23/24 OperaDelaware Studio Season.
Our Sunday Spotlight Artist Recitals highlight art songs and stories thoughtfully curated by pianist Aurelien Eulert and our tremendous guest artists. The Ethel L. Sayre Recital Hall at the OperaDelaware Studios is the ideal backdrop to experience the power, emotion, and nuance of art song repertoire. Get up close and personal with some of opera’s brightest stars at these intimate piano-vocal recitals.
What to expect
An art song recital typically lasts between 60-90 minutes with a brief intermission.
The singer and pianist will present song cycles (a set of related songs, often on a romantic or poetic theme, intended to form a single musical story) and audiences are asked to hold their applaud until the song cycles are complete. Recitals can include multiple song cycles and audiences are given a program which indicates song cycles by groupings.
Audiences are also provided with translations for the pieces, which are often performed in Italian, French, German, Russian, or Spanish. Supertitles are not projected at recitals, as they are often at operas, so that your focus can be entirely on the emotional storytelling that the artists are conveying.
What’s next
We proudly presented THREE outstanding Studio Spotlight Recitals in the winter of 22/23. Be sure to sign up for the OperaDelaware mailing list and follow us on socials to stay in the know about upcoming intimate performances at the OperaDelaware Studios.
